The ascension of our Lord celebrates the day that Christ, in the presence of his disciples ascended bodily into heaven.
Join us Thursday May 17 at 6pm at the trail head park at Rock Canyon for a BBQ and a service in the mountains.
Please bring your own meat and a side dish.

Conference Annual Meeting

Every year the Rocky Mountain Conference has an annual meeting. This if for churches in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. This year the meeting is in Fort Morgan Colorado June7-9. Intermountain Association Meeting
Please make plans to join us for the Intermountain Association Spring Meeting. The Intermountain Association is made up of the UCC churches in Utah and our sister churches in Wyoming. This is an opportunity for us to get together and share ideas and visit with other congregations. The meeting will be held April 28 at the Ogden Congregational UCC. National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer (36 U.S.C. § 119) is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the United States Congress, when people are asked “to turn to God in prayer and meditation”. Each year, the president signs a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day.
You will have that opportunity at the 2012 National Day of Prayer Service for Utah on May 3, 2012 at 7:00PM in the UVU Student Center Ballroom.
All persons, regardless of religious affiliation or faith are invited to come.

Feed the Hungry, worship God, run the Church
This week is all about the essentials of life in Christ:
Tuesday, 6:30 pm, come and help us make sack lunches for the homeless
Thursday, 6pm, come and help us make plans for the upcoming worship services
Saturday 10am-3pm, join as in Ogden for the Internmountain Association Spring Meeting with all our sister churches from Utah and Wyoming. Please be at our church at 9 am for car-pooling.

Good Friday
The first Friday of every month our church transforms itself into a sacred space of art. On April 6th, we will be displaying Easter Symbols from 6-9 pm. If you have some that you want to show, please have them at the church by 3pm so they can be set up.
At noon join our friends at St. Mary’s Episcopal for a Good Friday service and at 6:30 we will be worshiping with the Art Stroll crowd in our own sanctuary.

Maundy Thursday
Two of Provo’s oldest and long-standing congregations will share a very special service on Thursday evening, April 5, at 6:30 pm.
The Maundy Thursday service features a foot-washing rite and Holy Communion. This represents Jesus sitting down with his friends for the biggest holiday of the Jewish year to remember the people’s way through the Egyptian Desert. It starts out as a joyous occasion until Jesus announces that one of his friends is going to betray him. Drama unfolds as in everybody’s life. Sinners preferred, Saints welcome, too. The name of the day, Maundy Thursday, comes from its ancient Latin title. The word mandamus in Latin means to command, and recalls Jesus’ commandment to his friends that they share this meal in remembrance of him.
