In order to be recognized as such by the UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns we want to educate ourselves more about God’s extravagant welcome and radical inclusion. Classes will start this Saturday April 30th from 5-7 p.m. There will be a pot luck before each meeting. Each week you have the opportunity to learn about the process and there will be guest speakers from the Pride Center, African American Center, Community Action and many more. Pat Gamble Hovey from Holladay United Church of Christ will help Jim Arrowsmith facilitate the process. Please plan to attend.

Today Christianity commemorates the Death of Jesus Christ. Here at Provo Community United Church of Christ you are welcome to worship with us at 6:30 PM. The Crucifixion resulted in Jesus’ burial: Our God shared our common lot: Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
Jesus’ body was put in the Earth thus sanctifying it. So it makes sense to also look at another commemoration today: Earth Day. Google celebrates it with a special Doodle. Starbucks offers free coffee. Lowes gives away a million trees. The National Parks grant free admission.
Friday, April 22nd, 6:30
There is no point in celebrating Easter without Good Friday. There is no resurrection without death. Yes, God himself experienced what death is. Our God is vulnerable and thus one of us. Come hear it and see it and get the chills! Please RSVP on facebook.

The Maundy Thursday service features a foot-washing rite and Holy Communion. This represents Jesus sitting down with his friends for the biggest holiday of the Jewish year to remember the people’s way through the Egyptian Desert. It starts out as a joyous occasion until Jesus announces that one of his friends is going to betray him. Drama unfolds as in everybody’s life. Sinners preferred, Saints welcome, too. Please RSVP on facebook.
