I grew up in the LDS church but have not been active for the past several years. I have been in search of a place where I feel accepted and can still learn of God. I have not been to many churches and am nervous to come. Can anyone tell me a little bit of how a normal Sunday meeting goes and looks like?
You are definitely welcome to join us for a worship service, Sundays at 10:30am. The service is a blend of sermon, music (hymn singing, instrumental, choral singing and special guests from time to time), various statements, and call/response (always listed in the bulletin so no need to panic). Sermons are based on messages and lessons from the bible. Typically Communion/Sacrament/Eucharist is on the second Sunday of the month. All are welcome to partake (elements offered are wine, grape juice, water, and bread). The congregation is warm, friendly, inviting, and welcome everyone regardless of your background. The service typically is about 75 minutes with bible study/adult sunday school beforehand (9:30am) and fellowship following the worship service. If you are interested in singing, the Provo Interfaith Choir rehearses weekly at 5pm on Sundays with a dinner to follow.
