Sermon Sampler “Know His Voice” – April 26, 2026

In today’s sermon, “Know His Voice,” Evan Rodgers reflected on Acts 2:42–47 and John 10:1–10, reminding us that God and Christ call us by name and continue to speak in many different ways — through scripture, prayer, community, music, acts of service, quiet moments, and often through one another. Evan shared that sometimes our expectations of how God “should” communicate can prevent us from hearing Their voice already present around us.

The sermon reflected on Christ as the door to a more abundant life — a life of purpose, growth, compassion, courage, and faith. Following Christ often requires a leap of faith, but that leap can open us to meaning beyond measure. Evan also spoke about the threads of the Gospel found throughout many faith traditions and the ways God’s truth, love, and invitation toward growth can be seen throughout humanity’s spiritual journey.

Some questions to reflect on this week:
• How does God and Christ speak to you?
• By what means do you hear Their voice?
• What are you being called to do?
• What do you value most — and how does that shape the way you use your gifts and talents?

The sermon also reminded us of the importance of church and community. What you bring matters. Your presence, your experiences, your kindness, your talents, and your willingness to walk alongside others help build the strength of the congregation and the wider community.

“Cause of Christ = abundance.”

Thank you, Evan, for today’s thoughtful and inspiring sermon.

Next week, Pastor Alex Brown will be preaching “Promise of a Heavenly Home” with scripture from Acts 7:55–60 and John 14:1–14, and will also be providing Communion. Join us at 11:00 a.m. as we continue worship together in community.
